Philadelphia Union II fell 2-1 to Red Bull New York II on Sunday afternoon at Subaru Park.
After a scoreless first half, Union II opened the scoring in the 51st minute when Stas Korzeniowski finished a left-footed shot into the lower-left corner off an assist from Kellan LeBlanc. Red Bull New York II responded in the 67th minute with an equalizer from Mijahir Jiménez before Dennis Nelich scored the game-winner in the 72nd minute.
Union II created chances throughout the match, with Korzeniowski forcing an early save in the 18th minute and Eddy Davis III sending a shot just wide in the 38th. Korzeniowski nearly found a late equalizer in stoppage time, but his effort was saved by New York goalkeeper Tobias Szewczyk.
Philadelphia Union II will return to action on Wednesday, May 13, when they host New England Revolution II at Subaru Park. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET on OneFootball.
