Philadelphia Union announced today that Homegrown midfielder Cavan Sullivan, Union II midfielder Kellan LeBlanc, Academy forward Jamir Johnson, and Academy defender Jordan Griffin have been selected to join the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team training camp. Head coach Gonzalo Segares has called up 24 players for the domestic camp, which will take place from Oct. 6-10 at McCurry Park in Fayetteville, Ga. This is the final camp before Segares names his 21-player roster for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar this November. Philadelphia Union lead all clubs with four players named to the roster.
This marks the fourth call-up to the U-17s for Sullivan, LeBlanc, and Johnson, and the third for Griffin. Sullivan has earned eight appearances, scoring twice, while LeBlanc has played six matches with one goal and one assist. Johnson has featured in seven games, contributing three goals and two assists, and Griffin has made two appearances, adding one assist.
The camp is part of the Federation’s continued focus on the U.S. Way philosophy, which emphasizes increased programming for Youth National Teams to create more opportunities for young players to advance through the pathway to the senior National Team with the goal of representing their country at a world championship.
All players are born after Jan. 1, 2008, and are age-eligible for this fall’s FIFA U-17 World Cup, where the USA will face Burkina Faso (Nov. 5), Tajikistan (Nov. 8) and Czechia (Nov. 11) in Group I. Following this month’s camp, Segares will name his final roster for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in mid-October.
