Philadelphia Union Academy forward David Vazquez has the United States Under-17 National Team on the verge of a 2023 FIFA Under-17 World Cup berth as they take on Guatemala on Tuesday evening. Kick off is set for 8 p.m. ET with coverage on FS2.
The U.S. has dominated all opponents in their path to the Concacaf U-17 Quarterfinals which started 10 days ago with a 5-0 victory over Barbados and was followed up via a 3-1 victory over Trinidad and Tobago. In the group stage finale, the United States got past their northern rivals Canada, 1-0, to win Group F. The offense came alive in the Round of 16 as the United States racked up a 7-0 victory over the Dominican Republic to set up the win and in contest against the host nation.
Vazquez has picked up a pair assists so far at the tournament and has appeared in all four contests including starts against Trinidad and Tobago and Canada.
