Over the weekend, Philadelphia Union Academy’s U13 and U14 squads both took to the road and emerged victorious against Baltimore Armour.

The U13’s faced their fair share of challenges against Baltimore, playing on a bigger field than the club typically plays on. The match turned into one that featured many one-on-one possessions Peter Doran was able to net a brace to give the Union a 2-1 victory. All in all, a great learning experience for the U13 side.

The U14 team fought a closely contested battle the whole way through in their effort against the Baltimore Armour U14 side. After jumping out to a 1-0 lead, the Union had a player shown red. Resiliency was on full display as the squad not only played down a player but added to their side, sneaking another goal past the opposing keeper in the effort was telltale for this group. Anisse Saidi and Michael Tzimoulis provided the goals for the Union as they came away with the 2-0 victory on the day.

The U13 and U14 teams will return to play next weekend when they play host to Alexandria SC on April 24th. Meanwhile after a week off the U12’s will return to action April 24th when they face off against Real Jersey FC on the road.
