New U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team head coach Raphael Wicky has named a 26-player roster for his first training camp in charge. Running from April 4-8 in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., the event will serve as the team’s final gathering before it kicks off the 2019 Concacaf U-17 Championship on May 2 against Canada.

The training camp will provide Wicky his first opportunity to work with the U-17 player pool in person ahead of next month’s U-17 World Cup qualifying tournament. The USA will face Canada, Barbados and Guatemala in the group stage of the 2019 Concacaf U-17 Championship, where the U-17swill aim to qualify for a record 17th World Cup at this age level.

Philadelphia Union Academy product Jack de Vries has been called up as a forward. This year, de Vries has made one start in two appearances with USL Championship-side Bethlehem Steel FC, playing 63 minutes so far in the 2019 regular season. De Vries has also made 14 appearances (11 starts) and scored a total of five goals combined for the Philadelphia Union U16/17 and U18/19 squads in the 2018-2019 academy season.

Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2002 are age-eligible for the 2019 Concacaf U-17 Championship. Wicky has called 24 players born in 2002 and two born in 2003.
