Philadelphia Union close out a hectic October slate with the final regular season home match of the year at Subaru Park with a Halloween showdown against FC Cincinnati. The contest will mark a Halloween version of fan favorite U Thank U presented by Captain Morgan along with special pre-game events for fans coming out on Sunday, October 31st. The Boys in Blue come into the home finale after battling Toronto FC to a 2-2 draw on the road on Wednesday night. Team captain Alejandro Bedoya put the Union ahead just 37 seconds into the match to net the club's second quickest goal in a league match to add another special memory to his 150th MLS start. The hosts battled back to take a 2-1 lead in the second half but forward Sergio Santos marked his return to the pitch with a headed equalizer to help the club get a road point.
Philadelphia Union also enter the weekend on the verge of securing its fourth-straight trip to the 2021 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs with their next opportunity to secure their berth occurring on Saturday evening as Eastern Conference rivals square off. Sunday night's Eastern Conference clash will mark the second time in three weeks that the Union and Cincinnati have faced off with the Union grabbing a 2-1 win to extend its perfect record against the Ohio side. In the road visit to TQL Stadium, the Union jumped out to the lead after Kacper Przybylko patiently found space in the box during stoppage time of the first half. The Boys in Blue came out flying in the final half, with homegrowns Nathan Harriel and Paxten Aaronson combining for the winning goal.
FC Cincinnati comes into the match after dropping a 6-3 result to Nashville SC on Wednesday night. Cincinnati held a pair of two-goal leads in the opening 35 minutes but Nashville's offensive came alive with five straight goals to hand Cincinnati it's 10th straight loss. Overall FC Cincinnati finds itself at the bottom of the Eastern Conference table with a 4-120-8 record this season with 11 of those losses coming by a one-goal margin.
