The Philadelphia Union Foundation will hold its inaugural āCocktails & Cleatsā gala on Wednesday, March 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hyatt at the Bellevue. The gala will feature over 400 guests, including the entire Philadelphia Union team and Technical Staff, and will underscore the Foundationās vision of āBuilding Relationships and Changing a Generation.ā
The night will also honor Patricia (Pat) Trippley-Demiranda, the Co-Founder and Chairperson of the William Trippley Youth Development Foundation (WTYDF) and Chester City United, the youth soccer team that the Philadelphia Union co-founded.
āCocktails & Cleatsā is completely sold out but Building Block sponsorship opportunities and a waiting list still remain. For more information on either option, please contact foundation@philadelphiaunion.com.
The Philadelphia Union Foundation provides opportunities for children through the power of relationships to offer transformational change in the areas of education, community, health and recreation. Using soccer as a conduit for change, the Foundation reinforces the traditional family values of honesty, integrity, effort and accountability and aims to have a positive impact on children with respect to their character development, academic performance and physical well-being.
The Foundation had a very successful first year, hosting a variety of events in Chester such as a coat drive, a food drive, a playground build and the second annual River Cup match between the Sons of Ben and Union front office, which raised $30,000 for programming and initiatives in Chester. A partnership with Widener University and U.S. Soccer Foundation was also forged, leading to programs like Soccer for Success.
