The entire Philadelphia Union organization is mourning the loss of Fearless 43 member Yasmine Kermon, who passed away in April after a courageous battle with cancer.
Yasmine became part of the Union family in 2021 as a member of the Fearless 43, a group of children bravely fighting childhood cancer that the club proudly supports by raising awareness during Kick Childhood Cancer Month.
As part of that initiative, Yasmine was selected to help announce the club’s 2021 Kick Childhood Cancer pre-match adidas top. For the special day, she and several other Fearless 43 members spent time simply being kids, laughing and playing at an indoor trampoline park alongside former Union players Cory Burke, Matt Freese, and Jack Elliott.
Yasmine’s mother shared that her daughter was full of life and beautiful both inside and out. She had a smile and laugh that could light up any room—something that shone brightly throughout her day with the team, both on and off camera. Along with her joyful spirit, Yasmine was dedicated in the classroom, earning straight A’s throughout her time in school.
The Philadelphia Union will honor Yasmine’s life and the joy she brought to so many at their match on Saturday, May 2, with her initials added to the captain’s armband.
Fans who wish to honor Yasmine’s memory are encouraged to a donation in her name to Kisses for Kyle.
