Philadelphia Union II looks to bounce back after another setback over the weekend as it hosts rival New York Red Bulls for the second time at Subaru Park on Wednesday, August 5th. The closed door match will kick off at 5 p.m. and will be broadcast exclusively on ESPN+.
Union II enters the midweek match coming off a 4-0 loss to Group F foe Pittsburgh Riverhounds in a match that featured all 11 starters for the club being born in this century. The match saw first USL Championship starts for Union Academy members Brandan Craig, Quinn Sullivan while defender Anton Sorenson earned his league debut.
Wednesday match will be the second battle between the two MLS affiliates which saw Union II equalize early in the second half via Selmir Miscic but Red Bulls II netted four second-half goals to pull away for a 5-1 result.
New York Red Bulls II finds itself in third place in Group F with six points in four matches in 2020 but enters having won their last two matches with the other coming against the Riverhounds by a 2-1 margin.
