Philadelphia Union's unbeaten streak is up to eight straight MLS matches after they secured a late 2-1 comeback win against Toronto FC on Wednesday, and they'll look to close out their busiest month yet with another three points in Texas.
FC Dallas has had a lackluster start to the season, sitting at 11th place in the Western Conference standings with four wins, five draws, and six losses. Record aside, they've been injected with some confidence as of late, most recently overcoming a 2-0 FC Cincinnati halftime lead to finish the match with a 3-3 final score and a point.
In his Friday press conference, Head Coach Bradley Carnell gave a brief scouting report of the opponent from the Lone Star State, detailing what his team will expect come game time.
"With a new coach coming in and different ideas and different sequences, they have some real weapons and some real tools to to inflict harm and damage," Carnell said,
"They rallied back against Cincinnati. They are very good in transition, even if [Anderson] Julio plays or does not play. Whether it's [Bernard] Kamungo, they really have some attacking firepower. Then Petar Musa coming back now after missing a couple games...I think they're starting to find their feet."
It's been a strenous stretch of games for the Boys in Blue, who've rotated for six unique lineups over their six MLS games in May. Schedule aside, the team is up for another challenge and they'll enter tomorrow's contest in pursuit of another positive result.
"One game left here in Dallas and we know we want to come home with some points, hopefully three points," Nathan Harriel said two days after spurring his team's come-from-behind win in Toronto.
"We set a standard and the standard is very high. No matter who we play against, no matter who the opponent is, where it is, what time, there's a level that we want to sustain and this group is capable of doing it."
