The Boys in Blue look to wrap up the month on a high after battling back from a two-goal deficit on the road at Orlando City SC to return to Chester, PA., with a 2-2 draw. After allowing goals against the run of play early in both halves, Jim Curtin's squad showed the heart of a defending Eastern Conference champion with their never say die attitude with homegrown Jack McGlynn notching a goal at the hour mark. As the clock hit 90', Jose Martinez delivered another memorable moment with his first goal for the Boys in Blue with a right-footed blast from outside the box that fans and media cannot get enough of.
Saturday's matchup is the second and final regular season meeting between the Union and Inter Miami with The Herons nabbing a 2-0 home victory in early March behind a pair of goal of the week candidates from Corentin Jean and Robert Taylor.
Inter Miami CF is quite a different team from the one that Union faced off against last time out. Gone is Phil Neville who parted ways with the club on June 1st which has seen assistant coach Javier Morales assume the role of Interim Head Coach. Despite the change, Miami still is a team of momentum and a quick look at their results showcases just that. Two wins to open the season followed by six-game losing streak after they knocked off the Union. Things took a turn the other way with three-straight wins between April 29 and May 13 but the Florida side once again in the midst of a losing streak and come to Subaru Park winless in their last six. Those huge swings see the club at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with 15 points through 17 matches and very much awaiting the potential arrival of a certain World Cup Champion from Argentina that won't happen until late July.Â
