Philadelphia Union striker Mikael Uhre and Head Coach Bradley Carnell each earned Team of the Matchday honors after the team's Supporters' Shield-winning victory over New York City FC on Saturday night at Subaru Park.
With their 20th win of the year, the team set a new record and earned the opportunity to hoist the Supporters’ Shield at home for the second time in club history.
Uhre, the team's 31-year-old Danish striker, scored the lone goal of the match, placing a powerful shot to the back of the net off a pass across the box from 23-year-old Serbian midfielder Jovan Lukic. The goal marked his sixth goal in 2025 and his 38th in regular season play since signing with the Union in 2022.
Head Coach Bradley Carnell was also recognized, named Coach of the Matchday by the league after leading his team to a trophy in his first year at the club. Carnell joined Philadelphia ahead of the start of the 2025 season, and since his arrival, the team has secured the best record in all of Major League Soccer, boasting the best defense of the league, and scoring 57 goals between 18 different goal scorers.
