Philadelphia Union II duo of Malik Jakupovic and Willyam Ferreira have been selected by U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team head coach Alex Aldaz for the team’s upcoming training camp to be held March 24-29 at the Paraguayan Football Association’s Centro de Alto Rendimiento de Futbol Femenino (CARFEM), located in Ypané, Paraguay.
Gathering for the first time since the team’s successful qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup last month, the roster features 12 of the 21 players that booked the USA’s world-record 20th appearance at the tournament. Aldaz’s squad will train all week in lead up to an international friendly against Paraguay on March 28.
Ten different MLS club setups are represented on this month’s roster, with the Philadelphia Union sending four players and Columbus Crew and LA Galaxy each providing two players. Atlanta United, FC Cincinnati, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo, New England Revolution, New York City FC and San Jose Earthquakes are also represented.
USL Championship side Orange County SC sends one player, while the roster is rounded out with representatives from Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord, German Bundesliga club Hoffenheim and English Premier League club Brentford.
This month’s camp is part of the Federation’s continued focus on the U.S. Way philosophy, which emphasizes increased programming for Youth National Teams to create more opportunities for young players to advance through the pathway to the senior National Team with the goal of representing their country at a world championship.
