Philadelphia Union opens September with a Friday night showdown against the Eastern Conference leading New England Revolution. Kick off from Subaru Park is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and can be viewed on PHL17. Friday's contest will feature an online-exclusive pregame show for free on PhiladelphiaUnion.com for fans within the Philadelphia DMA with fans also able to view the match on PHL17. NOTES

  • Head Coach Jim Curtin changes the formation to a 4-2-3-1.
  • Goalkeeper Joe Bendik earns his second start of the 2021 season in net for the Boys in Blue. Bendik's previous start came against D.C. United on July 17th in a 2-1 Union win.
  • Homegrown Nathan Harriel gets his MLS debut as a starter at right back tonight. Harriel becomes the 12th homegrown to start for the Union all-time and the fourth homegrown to get his first start in 2021.
  • Center back Stuart Findlay gets his third start of the season tonight. Findlay's last start came against the Revs on August 8th.
  • Left back Kai Wagner makes his 65th MLS start tonight for the Boys in Blue.
  • Homegrown Jack McGlynn gets his fifth MLS start and his 13th appearances in his rookie campaign.
  • Homegrown Quinn Sullivan gets his third start of the season.
  • Homegrown Paxten Aaronson makes his second MLS start tonight against New England. Aaronson scored the Union's lone goal in his last start against New England on August 8th, winning the MLS Goal of the Week.
