With Major League Soccer on break for the Gold Cup and Copa America, MLSSoccer.com is showcasing numerous top 10 lists. The latest from Jonathan Sigal features the top 10 homegrown players who are having breakout seasons in 2019.

Philadelphia Union midfielder Brenden Aaronson leads the list having made the most of his opportunities to start in the Union midfield with Marco Fabián unavailable. The spotlight has been on the Medford 18-year-old since his first appearance of the season, starting on the road against the defending MLS Cup champions and oh did he deliver. Aaronson scored the Union's lone goal in his MLS debut and left Atlanta United's goalkeeper Brad Guzan yelling timber as he fell to the ground.

So far in 2019, Aaronson has made 15 appearances (13 starts) and fired off 23 shots in 950 minutes of work. With veterans in the form of Haris Medujanin and Alejandro Bedoya beside him, the transition and completion of the 'Path to the Pros' has been a calm one for Aaronson.
