While the Venezuelan is known for his defensive abilities, over the past month the midfielder has gained confidence in pushing the attack forward and that was spotlighted on Saturday night as he earned his first MLS assist. Winning the ball in the defensive side of Subaru Park, Martinez played a beautiful ball to forward Sergio Santos on the left flank where no defenders were to be found. Santos did the rest with a left-footed rocket inside the near post to make it 3-0 and reach the Union's latest achievement unlocked.
