Philadelphia Union renews its rivalry with the New York Red Bulls for the second time in two weeks as the clubs square off in New Jersey on Sunday, September 6th at 7 p.m. ET on PHL17 and PhiladelphiaUnion.com. The last time they met it was Philly walking away with the three points after a 1-0 win at Subaru Park two weeks ago.

The Union enter the weekend affair try to bounce back after their first regular season loss since the season opener in Dallas on February 29. “There’s certainly going to be urgency from them and us as well. We’re both coming off of losses.” Head Coach Jim Curtin told the press on Friday but he also expressed frustration with the lack of home games the Union have been granted thus far playing just twice in Subaru Park and hitting the road five times this season.

Plenty of eyes are on Ilsinho whenever Philly meets Red Bulls because he continues to give them a history they would likely rather forget. Homegrowns Brenden Aaronson and Mark McKenzie continue to stand out and draw attention international attention as they continue to perform and produce for the team.

As they take a short trip up to Harrison, New Jersey the Boys in Blue will try to put their traveling frustrations aside and take advantage of the currently head coach-less Red Bulls. The news broke Friday morning that Chris Armas and the team decided to part ways following a depleting loss to DC United in their last match. The Red Bulls are in a tough position having won one of their last six matches and going against one of the best defenses in the league. It will be interesting to see how the club reacts and plays under a new head coach for the first time since July 2018.

Players to Watch
