After getting a start midweek start in FC Red Bull Salzburg's 2-0 loss in the Europa League, former Philadelphia Union homegrown Brenden Aaronson was slated to be a substitute for the club's league contest against sK Rapid Wein. A injury in warmups propelled the 20-year-old into the lineup where he turned in one of his best performances to date.

Despite the lack of notice, Aaronson was prepared fully for the contest and played a key role in the game's opening goal as he set up Patson Daka for the 1-0 lead.

Aaronson nearly notched his second goal with FC Red Bull Salzburg in the second half but his sliding attempt in front of net was off my a matter of inches. Aaronson's European club took the match by a 4-2 margin to extend their league lead to six points.
