Both Philadelphia Union Academy sides were decided by penalty shootouts on Tuesday at the 2026 Generation adidas Cup.
U-16s
The Union Academy U-16s saw their GA Cup run come to an end in the Round of 16, falling to the LA Galaxy in a penalty shootout.
Abdoulaye Diop opened the scoring for Philadelphia, but LA Galaxy responded with two goals to take the lead.
Late in the match, Samuel Gallego found the equalizer to force a shootout, where the California side prevailed 4-2.
U-15s
The Philadelphia Union U-15s fell in a penalty shootout after playing the Houston Dynamo to a 1-1 draw in Premier Bracket action.
Jude Larbi provided the goal for the Baby Snakes, converting from the penalty spot during regulation.
After the match finished level, the Dynamo claimed the shootout 4-2.
What’s Next
Both teams will play two additional matches to conclude their participation in the tournament.
The U-15s return to action on Wednesday against Austin FC before facing the Colorado Rapids on Friday, April 3.
The U-16s will follow a similar schedule, taking on SK Slavia Prague on April 1 and the Houston Dynamo to close out play.
