Philadelphia Union homegrown midfielder Brenden Aaronson's strong performance against Inter Miami CF not only helped his team to three points but also earned him MLS Team of the Week Honors that were announced on Sunday afternoon.
Aaronson provided the game-winning assist on Kacper Przybylko's goal in the 63rd minute of play and nearly had another assist but the striker was deemed offsides in the first half.
Aaronson becomes the second Union player to earn Team of the Week honors at the MLS is Back Tournament, joining goalkeeper Andre Blake who earned the accolade after a seven-save performance against New York City FC in the Group A opener.
Philadelphia Union go for the top spot in Group A on Monday night against Orlando City SC. Kick off from the ESPN Wide World of Sports is set for 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN and TUDN.
