Philadelphia Union is proud to announce Strike Gold For Good on Wednesday, November 22nd, which will allow fans the opportunity to help with food insecurity in Chester ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The event, which takes place at the Union Shop located at Subaru Park from 2-5PM, will give fans who donate items the opportunity to strike the same drum used on Union gameday. Being a pre-game drum striker has been a memorable addition to the matchday experience at Subaru Park and now we're giving fans their own!
The first way that fans can Strike Gold on the drum is to donate a Thanksgiving dinner kit. Fans that donate the following items will not only get to strike the Union's drum, but also have the moment photo-captured by the club and sent to them via email to be cherished forever.
- (1) 16oz Box of Stuffing
- (1) 13 – 16oz Box/bag of Mashed Potato Flakes
- (2) 10 – 12oz Boxes/cans/jars of Gravy
- (2) 15oz Cans of Green Beans
- (2) 15oz Cans of Corn or Mixed Vegetables
- (1) Box/Bag of Dessert Mix
Fans can also earn their opportunity to strike the drum by bringing one of the following non-perishable food items donation from the list below:
- Peanut butter
- Canned soup
- Canned fruit
- Canned vegetables
- Canned stew
- Canned fish
- Canned beans
- Pasta (most prefer whole grain)
- Rice (most prefer brown rice)
All food collected during the three hour event will be donated by Philadelphia Union to CityTeam Chester as they prepare for Thanksgiving the following day.
Fans unable to make the event but would like to purchase items at the Union Shop can also stop during the Black Friday sale which will take place on Friday, November 24th and Saturday, November 25th. Deals include 40% off all Union scarves as well as select apparel up to 40% as well.
