Union grant local Make-A-Wish chapter's 8000th wish

#PHIvDAL | Make-A-Wish Surprise

Philadelphia Union partnered up with Make A Wish Philadelphia, Delaware and Susquehanna Valley to begin granting the chapter's 8000th wish. Ahmad, a 13-year-old from Philadelphia with a blood disorder, wished for a Major League Soccer Experience and the Union came through.

On Tuesday, Ahmad signed a one-day contract with the Union and spent the day with the club, meeting the team and attending training.

During Wednesday's match, Ahmad was on the same pitch as the players first starting off his gameday experience as the participant of the match's "First Kick". At half time he was back on the pitch as the club surprised him and his family with season tickets for the 2024 season.

Since 1986 Make-A-Wish Philadelphia, Delaware & Susquehanna Valley has been granting wishes to children with a critical illness in our region. With the hope of a wish, children who are fighting critical illnesses find light in the darkness of their circumstances and renewed motivation to persevere. The instant a child's hope is realized through a wish, they experience a powerful, lifechanging and unforgettable joy that nurtures their spirit forever. In recognition of their 8,000th Wish, Subaru of America would like to present Make-A-Wish Philadelphia, Delaware & Susquehanna Valley with a check for $8,000.
