After dismantling D.C. United for a dominant victory in the Capitol on Saturday night, Philadelphia Union standouts Indiana Vassilev, Milan Iloski, and Mikael Uhre were named to Major League Soccer’s latest Team of the Matchday.

It was a crucial and consequential night for Philadelphia, as the win strengthened their hold on the first place spot in the league. With three points added to their total, they sit atleast four points above the rest with 63 through 32 games played.

Vassilev scored two of the team's six goals on the night, earning him a spot in Team of the Matchday Starting XI. He bagged a brace during a 65-minute shift, boosting his season totals to five goals and four assists in his 29 matches played.

26-year-old forward Milan Iloski was featured on the Team of the Matchday bench, contributing a goal and two assists. Since singing with the club at the beginning of August, the forward has made a major impact on the team’s late season success, scoring two goals and five assists over seven regular season matches played.

“It was big for us, we wanted to come in here and get back-to-back wins. You can hear our fans, we do it for them. They're unbelievable," Iloski said after the match.

"We had to come out here and get a good result. It's a tight race for the Supporters' Shield, so really important for us to get a win out here."

When Homegrown Quinn Sullivan suffered an untimely injury and was forced to leave just 13 minutes into play, Head Coach Bradley Carnell called on Union forward Mikael Uhre, who stepped up in a big way moments after subbing in. In the 17th minute, Uhre assisted Bruno Damiani for the first goal of the match, sparking the scoring frenzy for Philly. In the 34th minute, the Dane capitalized on a pass from Damiani for a strike that ricocheted off his opponents for the team’s second of the night. In the second half, Uhre assisted the team’s fifth, and then added one of his own in the 65th minute for a final 6-0 scoreline. With his goal, Uhre became the third-highest goal scorer in Union history with 37 MLS goals, moving past C.J. Sapong. The Danish striker now has five goals and six assists on the season.
