The journey for a fourth Women's World Cup title continued Sunday afternoon in Paris as the U.S. Women's National Team knocked off Chile to clinch a spot in the knockout stage of the tournament with a 3-0 victory.

Veteran forward Carli Lloyd led the offense and made history in the process as she scored for the sixth-consecutive World Cup match to break a tie with German legend Birgit Prinz. Lloyd broke the mark in the 11th minute by taking advantage of a poor clearance in the box by Chile and riffling a left-footed volley into the net.

Julie Ertz doubled the lead with a set piece goal 15 minutes later, flicking a backward header off a kick from rookie defender Tierna Davidson. Lloyd wrapped up in the 35th minute off yet another cross from Davidson.

Despite outshooting Chile by a 26-1 margin, the United States were held to only three goals with spectacular saves from Chilean goalkeeper Christiane Endler.

The United States looks to win Group F as it takes on European rival Sweden on Thursday, June 20. Fans are invited to SteelStacks in Bethlehem for a viewing party where the Union's IBX U on Tour will be set up to cheer on the USWNT as they face off at 3 p.m.
