Loons turning things around
After conceding 11 goals in their first two matches and spending five of their first seven MLS games on the road, Minnesota United turned in a 1-0 home win against Colorado Rapids. It was Minnesota’s first time keeping a clean sheet in MLS.

The result caps a four-game road trip for Atlanta, who managed to compile five points during that time. It was also the club’s first win since back-to-back multi-goal victories in March.
Seattle wins in LA
In a Western Conference showdown between a pair of perennial powerhouses, Seattle Sounders trounced the host LA Galaxy, 3-0, to snap a three-game winless streak.
Clint Dempsey led the way with a goal and an assist, while Jordan Morris also scored for the defending MLS Cup champs. LA’s Ashley Cole registered an own goal in the loss.

The team has been courting Mexican national team and current Bayer Leverkusen forward Chicharito, and talks to bring him stateside has seen "significant" progress, according to a league source. Rumors of the deal would have LAFC pay Chicharito $10 million per season, which would make him the highest salaried player in MLS history.
