Heartbreak as Union II falls to New England Revolution II in USL eCup

eCup_FIFA_G3Recap

For the second straight week in the USL eCup: FIFA20 edition, Philadelphia Union II was on the wrong end of a match-winning goal at the death as the club fell to New England Revolution II by a 2-1 margin.

On the sticks was amateur competitor Timothy Bousson, the runner-up in FIFAdelphia Series 2 on PlayStation 4, as he faced off against eMLS professional John "JKO" Oliveira with Russia. Union II came out strong against the pro, netting the opening goal in the 14th minute with Spanish National Team forward Mmarco Asensio.

The game seemed to turn in the 29th minute as a free kick from Sergio Ramos rang off the crossbar and sparked a counter attack for Revolution II that was finished off by Denis Cheryshev.

With the match tied up at a goal apiece, extra time looked inevitable however the professional showcased his skill with a final attack in the final seconds that netted the winning goal to knock Philadelphia Union II out for this week.
