17s and 15s take pair of wins over PDA

This past weekend the Philadelphia Union Academy’s U15 and U17 squads both played host to PDA with both teams coming away with the victory in notably different fashions.

The U15 squad made light work of PDA controlling the match the entire way, a game in which they were rarely challenged to claim a 2-0 win. Antonios Horozoglou opened the scoring in the 12th minute getting behind the defense off of a lobbed pass and tapping home the goal. Dominic Wilson added a late goal to ensure the victory for the Union.

The U17’s faced a much tighter match in their game against PDA coming away with the 3-2 victory. Bajung Darboe continued his hot start to his Union career netting a first half brace to put the Union ahead 2-1 at the half. After an intense back and forth in the final 20 minutes PDA was able to tie the game up off of a free kick goal. A late game penalty led to Marcello Mazzola netting what would be the eventual game winner for the Union.

The U15 and U17 squads will be back in action on Halloween facing off against rival New York Red Bulls in friendlies on Saturday October 31st.
