While championship trophies headlined Saturday’s action, Snow Bowl 2026 Presented by The SWAG and YSC Academy also featured competitive showcase matches that closed out tournament play for several clubs.
U-15 Showcase | Borussia Dortmund 1, Newcastle United 1
Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United closed out their Snow Bowl 2026 campaigns with a dramatic 1-1 draw on Saturday morning.
Dortmund threatened early, but Newcastle goalkeeper Lucas Flack denied Mamadou Bah with a sharp save just three minutes in. The breakthrough came in the 15th minute when Justin Ehikioya Ejodamen threaded a pass into the box that led to a rebound opportunity, allowing Princewill Aburime to tap home for the 1-0 lead.
Newcastle nearly answered before halftime, but Jayden Kusi produced a strong reaction stop to keep Dortmund in front. The German side hit the post early in the second half through Edon Qetinaj and later saw another chance turned away by Leo Harper as the English side remained within striking distance.
That persistence paid off deep into stoppage time. After a late free kick was blocked, the rebound fell to Jack Skelton, who drove a low shot through traffic in the third minute of added time to secure the 1-1 result.
Dortmund finishes the tournament with a 1-2-1 record, while Newcastle United concludes play at 0-3-2.
U-16 Showcase | Lyngby Boldklub 1, PSV Eindhoven 0
Meeting for the second time at Snow Bowl 2026, a second-half penalty proved decisive as Lyngby Boldklub edged PSV Eindhoven, 1–0.
Set pieces defined the first half, with Siddhanta Amgai striking the crossbar from a free kick and PSV narrowly missing from a corner. Both sides created chances in transition before halftime but were unable to break through.
The decisive moment came in the 51st minute when August Myrwick raced in behind the defense and was taken down in the box. Myrwick calmly converted the penalty, driving his shot low to the left to seal the victory.
Lyngby concludes the tournament at 3-1-0, while PSV finishes 0-3-1.
U-15 Showcase | Philadelphia Union 1, Chicago Fire FC 0
Philadelphia Union closed out their U-15 campaign with a fast start and disciplined defensive performance in a 1–0 victory over Chicago Fire FC.
The Baby Snakes struck just 27 seconds into the match as Iain Heyward reacted quickest inside the box, finishing off a blocked shot to give the Union an early lead.
Chicago nearly equalized in the 27th minute when Francisco Diaz curled a 20-yard effort off the crossbar. The Union thought they had doubled their advantage in the 41st minute through Mateo Rosko, but the goal was waved off for interference after a brief officials’ discussion.
The early strike proved decisive as Philadelphia finished the tournament at 2-2-1, while Chicago Fire FC concluded Snow Bowl 2026 at 2-3-0.
U-16 Showcase | Borussia Mönchengladbach 3, Chicago Fire FC 1
The final showcase match in the U-16 Division saw German side Borussia Mönchengladbach jump out to a quick lead off a set piece. Erik Campistany delivered the opening strike, finding himself unmarked at the top of the box before firing a right-footed shot through traffic and into the back of the net.
The second half featured one of the tournament’s most notable moments. With the German side briefly down a player due to treatment, Chicago capitalized through Michael Gomez, who finished off a rebound to level the match. Following a quick discussion between the two sides, Mönchengladbach re-established its lead on an uncontested restart, making it 2-1 through 34 minutes of play.
Paul Ingenfeld doubled the German team’s advantage in the 45th minute, heading home a loose ball that had popped up near the goal line to seal the 3-1 result.
Borussia Mönchengladbach concludes Snow Bowl 2026 with a 2-3-0 record, while Chicago Fire FC finishes tournament play at 1-3-1 in the U-16 Division.
U-18 Showcase | La Salle Univeristy 2, S.L. Benfica 1
The second U-18 showcase match featured Portuguese powerhouse SL Benfica against La Salle’s men’s squad, with the older collegiate side earning a 2–1 victory.
Pedro Amadou opened the scoring for La Salle in the first half, shielding off a defender to control a bouncing ball inside the box before toe-poking it underneath the goalkeeper for the 1–0 lead.
La Salle doubled its advantage in the 38th minute through Alberto Esquivel. The sophomore midfielder forced a turnover near midfield, surged forward into the attacking third, and delivered a clinical finish into the upper 90 to make it 2–0.
Benfica nearly answered just before halftime when João Silva flicked a header goalward in the 41st minute, but the effort trickled wide of the left post.
The Portuguese side broke through in the 54th minute after Ismael Dabo applied pressure to force a turnover on the left flank. Dabo immediately whipped a hard cross to the back post, where Nazif Inoussa tapped home his fifth goal of the tournament. The finish secured Inoussa the U-18 Golden Boot, as the Benfica forward capped off a standout week in Chester as the division’s leading scorer.
Benfica concludes tournament play at 1-3-0.
