Day Two of Snow Bowl 2026 sees every team on the pitch

All 16 teams competing in Snow Bowl 2026 presented by The SWAG and YSC Academy were in action Tuesday, with major movement in both the U-16 and U-15 standings.

U-15 | Philadelphia Union 3, Newcastle United 1

Philadelphia Union’s U-15s delivered an impressive performance Tuesday afternoon, defeating Newcastle United 3-1.

The Union struck early against the English side, with Jude Larbi opening the scoring in the eighth minute. After Mason Cannon rattled the crossbar during an extended attacking sequence, Philly capitalized on the ensuing long throw-in, as Larbi reacted quickly in the box to fire home the opener.

Both sides searched for the next breakthrough in the second half. Newcastle narrowly missed in the 34th minute, while the Union were denied by a sharp reaction save from the goalkeeper.

The Baby Snakes continued to apply pressure and were rewarded when Grant Simmonds created space out wide, unlocking Newcastle’s defense and setting up a close-range finish from Filipe Cruz. Jayden Staines later added a third, darting behind the back line before calmly flicking his effort around the keeper to put the match out of reach.

Newcastle avoided the shutout late, converting a penalty through Jack Skelton, but the result secured a strong win for the Union.

U-16 | Philadelphia Union 4, Lyngby Boldklub 1

Philadelphia Union’s U-16s continued their unbeaten start to Snow Bowl 2026 with a 4-1 victory over Lyngby Boldklub.

Philly opened the scoring on a free kick, as Samuel Gallego delivered a left-footed cross into the box that guest player William Mihelic powered home with a header.

Gallego then took control early in the second half, scoring twice in three minutes to extend the lead. He struck first by tracking down a rebound from a saved shot and quickly finishing, before capitalizing on a quick restart to add his second of the afternoon.

Jayden Kouadio added a fourth in the 43rd minute, finishing in transition to cap a dominant stretch from the Union attack.

Lyngby pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 54th minute through Villads Honore Ostermann, but the Union comfortably saw out the result.

U-18 | Philadelphia Union 3, S.L. Benfica 1

The Union’s U-18s completed a perfect day for the club, rallying in the second half with three goals in six minutes to defeat S.L. Benfica 3-1.

Benfica struck first in the eighth minute, as Isaac Ferreira finished a transition opportunity off a centering pass from Ricardo Fernandes.

Philly controlled the tempo down the stretch and nearly equalized on consecutive set pieces that flashed just wide. The breakthrough finally came in the 48th minute, when Michael Capretto leveled the match. Two minutes later, Matthew Addai put the Union in front, igniting the crowd at WSFS Bank Sportsplex.

Capretto sealed the comeback in the 52nd minute, completing his brace and capping a stunning six-minute surge that secured the victory.

U-16 | S.L. Benfica 2, Borussia Mönchengladbach 1

Day Two opened with S.L. Benfica maintaining its unbeaten status, edging Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-1.

João Silva put the Portuguese side in front early, converting from the penalty spot in the fourth minute. Benfica doubled its advantage in the 37th minute through an impressive solo effort from Tiago Alves, who split two defenders before calmly finishing into the back of the net.

Mönchengladbach responded quickly, as Lukas Andree converted a penalty in the 40th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1. Despite late pressure, Benfica held firm to secure the result.

U-15 | CF Monterrey 4, Chicago Fire FC 0

CF Monterrey continued to showcase one of the tournament’s most potent attacks, rolling past Chicago Fire FC 4-0.

Los Rayados opened the scoring in the 19th minute when a quick attacking sequence freed Jaime García for the finish. Monterrey then seized control with back-to-back set-piece goals from Oscar Orlando Caballero and César Abdiel Almaguer in the 33rd and 38th minutes.

Iker Estrada added the fourth to cap another dominant offensive performance from the Mexican side.

U-15 | Borussia Dortmund 3, Manchester United 0

Borussia Dortmund secured a spot in the semifinals with a commanding 3-0 victory over Manchester United.

Momentum swung early when Dortmund goalkeeper Jayden Theodor Kusi made a key save in the opening moments. The Black and Yellow quickly capitalized, as Luca Elias Zwahr opened the scoring in the fifth minute before Adam Braham doubled the lead on a counterattack in the 10th.

Dortmund added a third in the second half through a penalty conversion from Peer Maximilian Ole Kluike. Manchester United continued to push forward, but four second-half efforts struck the post, preserving the clean sheet.

U-16 | Chicago Fire FC 3, PSV Eindhoven 1

Chicago Fire FC struck just 27 seconds into the match and never looked back in a 3-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven.

Adrian Cerda delivered the opener, cutting onto his left foot before curling a strike from 20 yards past the keeper. The Fire carried that momentum through the first half, with Finn McCraney finishing off a counterattack in the 23rd minute and DeAndre Beckford converting a set piece just before halftime.

PSV avoided a second consecutive shutout when Souhel Kake produced a strong finish with five minutes remaining, but Chicago comfortably saw out the result.

U-18 | Lyngby Boldklub 5, Alberg NextGen 0

Lyngby’s U-18s opened their tournament in emphatic fashion, defeating Alberg NextGen 5-0.

Oscar Wind started the scoring in the eighth minute before Behram Bagci took control, netting twice in the 14th and 24th minutes to give the Danish side firm control.

Noah Krucov and Sven Cappelletti added their names to the scoresheet to round out a dominant performance.

Wednesday's Action

Snow Bowl 2026 presented by The SWAG and YSC Academy continues Wednesday, with U-16 and U-18 matches taking place on the indoor IBX Field turf.

Five teams in the U-16 division enter the day with at least three points, setting up a slate where every match carries postseason implications as clubs look to secure spots in Friday’s Semifinals.

Meanwhile, the U-18 action features Philadelphia Union taking on Roland NextGen, while S.L. Benfica faces Lyngby Boldklub.
