Philadelphia Union Academy is headed west as they'll look to secure two more postseason berths at MLS NEXT Flex held in Frisco, Texas.
The Union Academy will see its U-18, U-16 and U-15 teams competiting at MLS NEXT Flex, which represents the final qualifying competition for 2026 MLS NEXT. Held at the Toyota Soccer Complex just outside the home of FC Dallas, the tournament will run from April 23-28, 2026.
Teams in each age group are split into groups of four and are seeded based on their performance in league matches from September 2025 to March 2026.
The winner of each group will automatically clinch a spot in 2026 MLS NEXT Cup.
Philadelphia Union already saw the U-16s clinch a spot into the May's MLS NEXT Cup with a 6-2 victory over rivals Red Bull New York over the weekend which secured a top three finish in the league table. Meanwhile the U-18s and U-15s are primed to advance via the regular season standings as well but head to Texas looking to officially clinch before wrapping up their season.
The U-18s return to Texas looking to carry over their Lonestar State momentum which saw them become just the third American side to win the Dallas Cup. At MLS NEXT Flex, the Academy's oldest squad will face off against Michigan Futbol Academy, Miami Futbol Academy Rush and NEFC.
The U-15s kick off their tournament play on Thursday with three games in four days which will see them take on Lamorinda Soccer Club, Orlando City Soccer School South and finally Michigan Wolves.
The U-16s are paired up with SoCal Reds FC, Quieen City Mutiny FC and Cedar Stars Academy of Bergen.
