Box Score | Philadelphia Union 2, LAFC 2

Los Angeles (May 1, 2022) –  Philadelphia Union tied Los Angeles FC 2-2 on Saturday night at Banc of California Stadium, in what was a matchup between the two first place teams in their respective conferences. With the draw, the Union remain in first place in the Eastern Conference with 19 points. In the first half, Daniel Gazdag scored his fifth goal of the season in the ninth minute, assisted by Kai Wagner and Julian Carranza. With the assist, Kai Wagner becomes the fourth all-time assist leader with 21 career assists. In the 56th minute, LAFC’s Kwadwo Opoku scored the equalizer off a left footed shot. Julian Carranza scored a goal in the 67th minute with a left footed shot to put the Union in the lead, making it his fourth of the season. LAFC’s Franco Escobar made it 2-2 in the 82nd minute. Goalkeeper Andre Blake recorded four saves to help the Union secure a point on the road.

The Union are on the road on May 10th where they will play Orlando City SC in the Round of 32 of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. (7:00 p.m. ET / ESPN+).
