The Philadelphia Union announced a new partnership on Monday with the ridesharing company Uber. For the entire duration of the 2016 season, a dedicated pick-up and drop-off location will be located at Stadium Lot E.
“We’re always looking for ways to improve the convenience factor for our fans and we’re genuinely excited to team up with Uber to offer an easy, reliable and safe option to commute to Talen Energy Stadium,” said Philadelphia Union Vice President of Corporate Partnerships and Premium Seating Drew Young. “This will benefit patrons from all over the greater Philadelphia region and truly creates the easiest transportation method we’ve ever had. We’re really looking forward to a long and prosperous partnership.”
All year long, Union fans will be able to commute to-and-from Talen Energy Stadium by requesting a ride via their smart phone. The dedicated Uber Lot will be Stadium Lot E, located on Reaney Street, in between Seaport Drive and W. Front Street. Drivers will begin positioning immediately after halftime. In addition, people trying out Uber for the first time will be able to use the promo code 'PhilaUnion' in their Uber app to receive $15 off their first ride.
“Uber is making it easier for people to leave their keys at home and skip the parking lot,” said Jon Feldman, General Manager for Uber Pennsylvania. “With the launch of our dedicated pick-up/drop-off zone, getting to and from a Philly Union game will be more convenient than ever before.”
Fans can experience the new partnership for the Union’s home opener at Talen Energy Stadium on Sunday, March 20 against New England Revolution. Kick is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on 6abc. Single game and group tickets are available now by visiting philadelphiaunion.com/tickets or calling 1-877-21-UNION. Fans interested in full or partial season ticket packages can enjoy all the benefits of a season ticket membership. This includes up to 33 percent off single game ticket pricing, discounted parking options, access to the Union Rewards program and much more.
