As calendars turn to February, the first day of the month is special for all of the Philadelphia Union soccer club, but especially for Phang. February 1st marks both one month closer to the return of the Major League Soccer regular season and National Serpent Day!
Since bursting out of his egg at the Philadelphia Zoo, Phang has become made new friends including Mark McKenzie, played under the gridiron lights and yes even gotten some paparazzi to follow him.
Sure he didn't start out as the loveable snake that we know and love today but today we celebrate our favorite mascot and can't wait to see him at the Union's season opener at Talen Energy Field against Toronto FC on March 2nd.
