U17s pick up 2-1 friendly win

Recap-U17-522

Philadelphia Union Academy’s U17 squad saw out a 2-1 win on Saturday afternoon, defeating PDA at the Power Training Complex in Chester, PA.

Playing one last final tune up before heading to Atlanta for the MLS Academy Cup, the club came in the first half not firing on their full cylinders but all that changed in the second half. After some tactical adjustments to take advantage of the PDA scheme, the Boys in Blue broke through with goals from Bajung Darboe and Jake Spadafora.

The U17s will play three matches in a four day span this weekend. The action from ATL begins on Friday, May 28th with a match up against Charlotte FC followed the next day by Inter Miami CF. The tournament concludes on Monday, May 31st with a battle against hosts Atlanta United.
