Okugo, McInerney Named to US U-20 Roster

CHICAGO (December 9, 2010) – Philadelphia Union’s Amobi Okugo and Jack McInerney have been named to the U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team roster that will be training at Sunrise, Florida, from December 12-19. The camp will include two friendlies against Canada on December 16 and December 18.

Okugo’s last appearance with the U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team was during the Torneo de las Americas Tournament that took place at the Kennesaw State University, November 21-29. Okugo started and played 90 minutes of the National Team losses to Colombia and Mexico, both of which came in PK’s.
McInerney last joined the U.S. U-20 MNT and Okugo in the Cor Groenewegan Tournament that took place in Uitgeest, Netherlands, from May 15-25. The team finished with a 1-1-1 record, picking up a win against SK Lokeren, a draw with Athletico Mineiro and a 2-1 loss to Japan, where McInerney scored the lone U.S. goal.
Okugo and McInerney returned today from a successful Generation adidas tour to Spain, where the squad defeated the Real Madrid (2-1), Rayo Vallecano (1-0) and Atletico de Madrid (4-1) reserve sides. With a very solid performance throughout the entire camp, Okugo started and played the full 90 minutes of each match, while McInerney started games against Rayo Vallecano and Atletico de Madrid, logging a total of 137 minutes.
