Veteran defender Ray Gaddis is back with the Boys in Blue for his seventh season with the club, making him the longest-tenured player on the team. To Gaddis, another season with the Union is truly a blessing.
“It feels really good to be back. The group is very lively and very energetic," Gaddis said.
The defender has appeared in a remarkable 144 matches — the third all-time in Union history in games played. Gaddis is also the fourth all-time in club history in games started (137) and minutes played (12,170).
With a long season ahead for the Union and big aspirations in mind, Gaddis is just taking things one step at a time.
“Right now we’re focused on preseason, but the ultimate goal is to make the playoffs," Gaddis said. "The end goal is to always win the MLS Cup and (Lamar Hunt) U.S. Open Cup and bring hard work to the team, but we’re just taking it one step at a time.”
Gaddis and the Boys in Blue will kick off the 2018 season on March 3 with a home opener against New England Revolution, presented by Oliver Heating and Cooling. Tickets for the match can be found here.
