Philadelphia Union’s U-18s closed out group stage play at the Dallas Cup with a 3-0 victory over fellow MLS academy St. Louis CITY SC on Wednesday afternoon.
The Boys in Blue opened the scoring in style, with Chuka Ebo finding the back of the net to give Philadelphia an early advantage.
Tyler Gladstone doubled the lead from the penalty spot before a quick counterattack was finished by Gunnar Graham, sealing a 3-0 result.
The victory secured the top spot in the group for the Union, who remain perfect in Dallas and have outscored their opponents 6-0 through group stage play.
What’s Next
The Boys in Blue are now two wins away from lifting the prestigious Dallas Cup, advancing to the semifinals to face Mexican side CF Monterrey on Friday.
Monterrey enters the matchup unbeaten, opening the tournament with a 1-1 draw against Esporte Clube Água Santa before earning wins over Fulham FC and FC Dallas.
