Philadelphia Union Academy racked up 27 goals across its three youngest competitive sides as the U14 and U13 teams defeated Achilles FC while the U12s knocked off Sporting Delaware.
The U13’s put up the most impressive scoreline with five players notching multiple goals in route to a 13-1 victory in MLS NEXT action against Achilles FC. With possession heavily on their side due their high pressure, the U13s were dangerous in front of goal with Jordan Griffin and Jamir Johnson bagging a hat trick while Gabriel Wesseh, Matteo Zambrano and James Soler added a brace. Gunnar Graham rounded out the scoring for the Boys in Blue.
Meanwhile the U14s too were strong with their own 7-0 win against Achilles FC. The dominant offensive performance came as the side adapted the visitor’s defensive game plan that resulted in several goalscoring opportunities. Cavan Sullivan notched a brace while Kellan LeBlanc, Luca Mazzola, Michael Tzlmoulis, Anthony Washington and Stefen Chirila added goals to their tallies.
In Accela League action, Philadelphia Union’s U12s put up yet another solid performance to pick up a 7-1 win over Sporting Delaware. Controlling the tempo from the start, the Boys in Blue created dangerous forward passes that created countless scoring chances that were capped off by braces from Willyam Ferreira and Jax Novodor. Andrew Li, Aaron Wessah and Declan Lannon rounded out the scoring.
Philadelphia Union Academy continues its spring schedule with the U14s facing off against SYC Soccer on the road on Saturday, May 15th. The U13s too will face off against SYC in MLS NEXT action and then will host Pipeline SC in a friendly on Sunday, May 16th. The U12s on the other hand return to Acela League play on Saturday morning when the host FC Delco.
