Tonight’s starting XI for your Philadelphia Union features a different look than in games past.
Making his first career MLS start is defender Joshua Yaro. Alongside Yaro on the back line is Georgetown teammate Keegan Rosenberry. With Brian Carroll and Ken Tribbett out of the starting lineup tonight, that leaves Rosenberry as the only outfield player for the Union to play in every minute this season. Fabinho and Richie Marquez round out the back line.
Jim Curtin will once again call upon the services of Warren Creavalle who is returning to the starting lineup after missing last Friday due to suspension. Alongside Creavalle will be Vincent Nogueira who is making his second consecutive start.
Sebastien Le Toux will wear the captain’s armband for Philadelphia tonight. Le Toux is making his 138th career start in a Union uniform, tying him with Brian Carroll and Sheanon Williams for first all-time in franchise history. Joining Le Toux in the midfield will be Chris Pontius and Roland Alberg.
C.J. Sapong will lead the charge for Philadelphia. Sapong has been the offensive catalyst for the Union this season. He leads the club in goals (3), shots (16) and shots on goal (6).
Andre Blake will be the man between the posts for Philadelphia. Blake has started every game in the Union’s 2016 campaign, posting a 1.00 goals against average.
