2017 Record: 3-1-1 (10 points), 1-1-0 on the road, 1st in Western Conference
All-time Record vs. Portland: 1-3-3

Projected Starting XI (4-2-3-1): Jake Gleeson – Alvas Powell, Lawrence Olum, Roy Miller, Marco Farfan – David Guzman, Diego Chara – Sebastian Blanco, Diego Valeri, Darlington Nagbe – Fanendo Adi
Player to Watch: Marco Farfan
Much like the Union have Derrick Jones, the prize of the Timbers' homegrown talent is Marco Farfan. Farfan made just his second league appearance when he drew into the Starting XI for Portland against New England. In his home debut for the club, Farfan played outstanding, earning him MLS Team of the Week honors.
Farfan plays both sides of the ball well for the Timbers. He has an 80 percent passing accuracy on the season, including an 81.4 percent accuracy in the attacking half. Defensively, he's won 83 percent of his duels, adding 10 ball recoveries and four clearances to his resume in the defending half of the field. Most likely lining up at left back, Farfan will have many battles with seasoned Union players Alejandro Bedoya and Ilsinho. If the Union can take advantage of Farfan's inexperience, it could be a good day for the Philadelphia offense.
