Philadelphia Union Academy went undefeated in group play of the 2017 Generation adidas Cup, defeating Chicago Fire 2-1 in the final match of the group stage.
The two teams played to a scoreless first half, but the Union conceded a penalty early on in the second half. The Fire scored on the penalty kick, but the Union responded quickly.
With seconds winding down in the match, Iverson Brisma slammed home a cross to give the Union Academy a 2-1 lead, and the Union held on to secure its third victory of the tournament.

Earlier in the group stage, the Union Academy defeated New England Revolution 5-0 and C.F. Monterrey 2-1. By winning the group, Union Academy joins New York City FC, San Jose Earthquakes and Tigres UANL to the semifinals. Matchups will be determined at a later time.
