Philadelphia Union, MLS and Wells Fargo are partnering to recognize leaders in the community who are using soccer to improve the lives of others.
Starting today, fans can nominate their Community MVP, a leader in the community who is making a positive impact in various areas, such as social issues focusing on diversity, equality and inclusion, health issues affecting men, women and children, and community service for a local, national or international organization.
Nominations begin today, June 8, and run through June 28. The Union will then nominate one Community MVP as a representation of the organization. Every other MLS team will also nominate their representative, and from those 22 Community MVPs, one will be chosen to receive $25,000 to a charity of their choice.
Each team's Community MVP nomination will receive two tickets to a Union match, local recognition for their cause, and a trip to Chicago for the 2017 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target, including airfare, tickets to the match, accommodations for two nights, national recognition during halftime, and an opportunity to work with MLS WORKS on community efforts surrounding the All-Star Game. Each of the 22 Community MVP nominations will also receive $1,000 to a charity of their choice.
