In just eight short days, Talen Energy Stadium will be hosting an international friendly between Club Puebla and Club America.
Club America heads into the match training for the 2017 Apertura tournament, using the 2017 Eagle Tour as a means to get ready for the event. It will the team's second match of the Eagle Tour and the first against Club Puebla. Club America is one of Liga MX's most historic clubs, winning 12 Liga MX titles to go with seven CONCACAF Champions League titles.
Club Puebla will also be using the tournament as a way to train for its upcoming season. Club Puebla has yet to win a Liga MX title, but does have a CONCACAF Champions League title in its trophy case.
This match presents a great opportunity for Union fans to come out and see two clubs they may not naturally see play each other. Philadelphia was selected for the match because of its strong Club America fan base and soccer passion as a whole. There will also be a soccer festival outside of Talen Energy Stadium before the match, where there will be live music, food, and more.
