Jim Curtin inducted into Villanova's 2017 Hall of Fame Class

Villanova University Varsity Club announced Wednesday that Head Coach Jim Curtin will be inducted into its 2017 Hall of Fame class. Curtin will be awarded the prestigious honor on Friday, March 2 at the 42nd annual Hall of Fame Dinner at Villanova's Connelly Center.

“I am very honored and humbled to be a member of the 2018 Villanova Hall of Fame class," Curtin said. "The hall of fame is forever. I am incredibly grateful to the Villanova Hall of Fame board, my coach Larry Sullivan and all my teammates throughout the years.”

During his time with the Wildcats, Curtin played for the Men's Soccer Team from 1997-2000 and was awarded the Big East Rookie of the Year Honors in his first season. He was later awarded the Philadelphia Soccer Seven Player of the Year in his senior year.

Curtin also became the first athlete from Villanova to be drafted by MLS in the 2001 SuperDraft by Chicago Fire. While at Chicago, he played in over 200 matches, won U.S. Open Cup championships in 2003 and 2006 and captured All-Star honors in 2004.

Curtin, along with eight other former Villanova student-athletes from different sports, will be featured in this year's class.
