Midfielder Alejandro Bedoya returned to the Union's preseason on Monday as an experienced leader for the young club. One thing that was especially important to Bedoya was reuniting with his former teammate David Accam.
Accam and Bedoya were teammates in 2012 and 2013 at Swedish club Helsingborgs and now get to continue their experience together on the pitch for the Union this season.
"I'm looking forward to the season to start, seeing some new faces, reuniting with my old teammate David Accam who's going to give us a new look," Bedoya said. "I know when the other team looks at our team sheet and sees him on the field, they're going to be wary of him and put him on their back foot."
Bedoya, who has been a key player for the team since he joined mid-season in 2016, is happy to be back with the guys and playing the game he loves.
With the combination of Fafa Picault and Accam working together, Bedoya feels that creating chances to score will be very effective.
"Hopefully, with high pressing, we can turn a ball over high and get guys like Fafa (Picault) and David (Accam) on the run on the counter and cause some damage to the other team's defense," Bedoya said.
Fans will have the opportunity to watch Bedoya, Picault and Accam face off against New England Revolution on March 3 at Talen Energy Stadium. Kickoff for the match is set for 7:00 p.m. and tickets can be secured here.
