As fans start to turn in their MLS All-Star voting ballots, the goalkeeping choice couldn’t be easier. Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Andre Blake will look to attend his second career All-Star Game with the fans help.
Blake has stayed true to form for Philadelphia Union in 2018. The starting goalkeeper in the 2016 MLS All-Star Game against Arsenal is having yet another all-star caliber year.
The stats speak for themselves — Blake has recorded 38 saves, logged three shutouts and has a goals-against average of 1.36 this season for the Union.
What has been the special ingredient for Blake? Well, there’s actually multiple. Most players have a strict diet when it comes to their routine for performance.
Some players choose the classic Wheaties route, as for the Captain of the Reggae Boyz? He has his own menu in mind.
“I have two cups of coffee, a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. It’s really good," Blake says.
The secret is out on Dre’s morning preparation that leads to on field success. As fans continue to vote for Blake to start in the 2018 MLS All-Star Game against Juventus at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, the former MLS Goalkeeper of the Year will continue to eat his bacon egg and cheese sandwiches.
Fans can cast their vote for Blake to the MLS All-Star Game Fan XI presented by Target through the free MLS app and on the online ballot on MLSsoccer.com beginning June 8. Voting will end on June 20, so hurry up and vote for #BeamerBenzAndBlake now!
