Red Bulls 2-1 win vs. Seattle, what to expect when they come to Philadelphia

As Philadelphia Union prepare for their Round of 16 match in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup against New York Red Bulls this Saturday, we'll take a look at how RBNY competed in their last MLS match.

The Red Bulls played host to Seattle Sounders in a midweek matchup on Wednesday evening, earning themselves a 2-1 home win at Red Bull Arena. The match was off to a slow start until Danny Royer found the back of the net in the 37th minute of play, putting RBNY on the scoresheet first. Royer's goal was assisted by Ethan Kutler who made his first MLS start on the night. But Kutler's impressive debut didn't end there.

After the half, the 2016 MLS Golden Boot Winner Bradley Wright-Phillips sent a beautiful header past Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei, recording his 96th career goal. Kutler again made his second assist in the match. Red Bull's clean sheet seemed promising until Sounders midfielder Harry Shipp scored in the 87th minute, but it wasn't enough to pull off a result against New York.

The Red Bulls will now travel to Talen Energy Stadium on Saturday to face the Union in the Round of 16 in the U.S. Open Cup, with kick off slated for 7:00 p.m. ET on philadelphiaunion.com.
