Drew Skundrich Earns USL Team of the Week Accolades
Midfielder named to league’s team of the week after collecting his first goal and assist of 2018

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (July 3, 2018) – After helping the club to an unbeaten month with a victory over the Charlotte Independence, Bethlehem Steel FC midfielder Drew Skundrich has been to the USL Team for the Week for Week 16.

The Lancaster native had a standout performance against the Independence, collecting his first professional assist in the first half and following up with his first goal in the second. Skundrich gave Steel FC the early lead in the 10th minute, providing a back-heeled flick to Chris Nanco for the first of four Steel FC goals.

Collecting his point wasn’t enough for the 22-year-old rookie as he notched an insurance goal. After receiving a pass from Fabian Herbers, Skundrich turned to his right and fired a left-footed shot that beat the keeper and sealed a five-match unbeaten streak for Steel FC.

Skundrich’s accolade is the first of his career and Steel FC’s sixth of 2018. Week 16 marks the third-consecutive week a player from Bethlehem has earned a league honor and gives Steel FC five appearances in the last seven weeks. Skundrich joins Santi Moar, has appeared twice,  Brandon Allen, Derrick Jones, Herbers and Nanco as players to collect the league’s weekly accolades in 2018.

Skundrich and the rest of Bethlehem Steel FC look to continue its unbeaten form when travels to interstate rival Penn FC on Friday, July 6. The showdown between two unbeaten sides will take place at FNB Field, with kick off scheduled for 7 p.m. The match will be broadcast locally on Service Electric and streamed online on ESPN+.
