After being cleared by FIFA to participate as a member of the US Men's National Team, Derrick Jones was named to the finalized roster for the U-20 USMNT FIFA World Cup Team.
The USMNT will compete in the World Cup from May 20 - June 11 in Korea Republic. The US drew into Group F, which features Ecuador, Senegal and Saudi Arabia. The team's first match against Ecuador is on May 22 at 4 a.m. ET, followed by Senegal on May 25 at 7 a.m. ET and finally Saudi Arabia on May 28 at 5 a.m. ET. All of the USMNT's group stage matches will be shown on FS1.
Jones is a product of the Union Academy, being the first player to start for the Union Academy, Bethlehem Steel FC and Philadelphia Union. Jones made his first MLS start against Vancouver Whitecaps FC this season, and has appeared in eight matches this season, starting five.
