Union U-16s compete in final qualifying leg of Generation adidas Cup

The Union U-16s are traveling to Orlando for the final leg of the qualifying stage of the Generation adidas Cup. The Generation Adidas Cup is an international tournament where 19 MLS academies play a round robin tournament for qualifying before competing with international teams for a knockout stage.

Heading into the final stages of the qualifying round, the Union sit in fourth place in the East region. The U will play Orlando City SC (second place) on February 17 and will battle DC United (sixth place) on February 20. The top two teams from each region will advance to the Finals. 

In addition to playing in the Generation adidas Cup qualifying round, the team will spend time with the Philadelphia Union first-team, who is training down in Clearwater, Fla., and competing in the Rowdies Suncoast Invitational.
